TBI:Alive is an exciting community resource for brain injury survivors, impacted families, and proactive health practitioners encouraging functional reintegration throughout life following cognitive trauma.
This organization focuses upon fostering healthy community for these populations, veteran and civilian alike, by including consistent activity to promote healthy personal function and general reintegration skills.
TBI:Alive engages the brain injury community by encouraging each participant and family member with inclusive, safe group activities. Examples of these vital programs are noted below, which will all continue to expand with each donation received.
General social activities in restaurants and coffee shops
Cultural outings at museums and local attractions
Adaptive Yoga and Movement Therapy through the cooperation of local studios and athletic facilities
Apadtive outdoor recreation with therapeutic rec professionals, including:
Hiking
Kayaking and Watersports
Cycling
Rocki Climbing
Group Walks For Family Participation and Health
Skiing and Snowshoeing
Seminars on Self-Care and Healthy Habits for Life
Along With:
- Professional therapeutic presentations on proactive health strategies following cognitive injury, for both families and survivors
- Educational presentations at local community events and public schools
- Affiliation with university systems to facilitate entry into educational programs
- Family retreats, which help to deliver a forum for that caring and committed group
Founded in 2011 by families, health professionals, and individuals who have all been directly impacted by brain injury, TBI:Alive is a very active and successful nonprofit organization which is completely staffed by volunteers, all of whom donate valuable time and energy to such a worthwhile cause so that each dollar raised can be delivered directly to proactive programming.
