COVID-19 Pure Justice Community Fund
Donation protected
Across the United States, households have been severely impacted economically because of COVID-19. Many have lost jobs, loved ones, and access to life-saving resources that they depend on every single day. While COVID-19 is reeking havoc on our communities, many vulnerable populations in Harris County, Texas were financially hurting before the crisis hit and did not have the financial resources to properly prepare. Before COVID-19 marginalized communities spent the majority of their income on rent, faced food insecurity, unemployment rates higher than the national average, and could barely provide basic needs for their families.
Many larger organizations will raise money to help communities in various ways, but oftentimes, those who need help the most, face the significant barriers to obtaining the help they desperately need. As a trusted grassroots organization, many people have reached out to us for assistance with purchasing food, shelter, and other basic needs because we help without judgment or degrading scrutiny. Therefore, we decided to set up a fund to increase our resources giving capacity and expand our efforts beyond helping just our members helping the broader community. We will give money directly to those in need of assistance right now and cannot afford to wait.
People are afraid and worried because there is a lot of uncertainty ahead of us; please help us provide peace, comfort, and community solidarity by donating today to help those who could use a little extra financial assistance today.
