Parvo puppy

Update- parvo puppy is eating on his own. We removed the feeding tube. His white blood cell count is better so we got the green light to bring him home at night and back to my clinic during the day. We feed him every couple hours and he is doing well. Still very skinny, tired. He has energy for about 1 minute and then gets tired and sleeps a lot. As long as we can stay out of the ER I think we are close to paying back all the medical bills. Any extra donations will be given to a pit bull rescue or to the ER to help other babies who can’t afford treatment.

Hi my name is Erica Johnson and I am a veterinarian at a GP clinic in Point Loma (San Diego). This puppy tested positive for parvo and was going to be euthanized. Owner surrendered the puppy over to me. I am hospitalizing him at PESC (emergency clinic- shout out to them for doing an amazing job) during overnights, and to save money I pick him up before work and bring him to my clinic for hospitalization and treatment during the day. I run lab work at my clinic and bought some of the medications to cut costs at the ER. The ER bills are going to pile up as he is on night 2 and still has the feeding tube in. The estimate for the ER is about $1,000 per night. I was not expecting this obviously, but I have a weakness for the blue pitties (We have a 1 year old rescue blue pit at home). Parvo puppy is not eating on his own, is anemic and very underweight. He has a feeding tube in and we are hoping for the best! If you can donate any amount it would be greatly appreciated- I recently got engaged 2 weeks ago and my fiancé didn’t ask for the ring back when I told him we now have a parvo puppy lol but any donation will help with the financial burden.
