Tammy's Healing
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Denice and I'm fundraising for my mom, Tammy, and her husband Rick. Tammy and Rick are a devoted couple who have been married for 34 years, and in that time, have experienced some devastating blows, including the loss of 2 of their 4 children. To compound their grief, four years ago, Tammy was diagnosed with breast cancer. A lumpectomy surgery and radiation followed, and a few months later she was deemed cancer free by her doctors. Throughout this time, Tammy continued to work full-time at a restaurant to keep the family afloat financially. Two years ago, Tammy had to have emergency surgery for a perforated ulcer. Unfortunately, in October of last year, another cancerous lump appeared in the same breast. This time, doctors had to perform a total mastectomy. Since then, she has had severe complications from infections at the wound site and had to be on a wound vac from early January to March of this year. Through all of this, Tammy was under medical care with full restriction from all activity for 13 weeks. After 12 weeks, her employer of 19 years informed her that they would no longer hold her job for her and that they would be discontinuing her group health insurance contributions. She is still very weak, and unable to do anything requiring physical effort. Rick continues to work for a company he has been with for many years but does not have an option for major medical insurance.
Tammy and Rick are now at risk of losing their health insurance, their home, and everything they have worked so hard for in the past 40 years. They are still making payments on the loan that was taken out to pay for Tammy's previous two surgeries, and the bills for the most recent ones are coming in regularly. I am humbly asking that you give anything you can to help this wonderful couple who has had more than their share of struggles. All donations will go toward Rick and Tammy's mortgage, medical and household bills.
Thank you, Denice
