Help Mom Replace Her Stolen Jeep

Donation protected
Hi my name is Hollis, I have created this Gofundme in hopes that someone with a kind heart can see the hurt that this incident has caused me and my mom and help bring light to a dark situation. My mom “Peggy Simmons” has always been the type of mom who would put her children before any and everything, she sacrificed so much to be able to provide for her family as a single mother. I grew up watching my mom be a struggling business owner in the hair industry, most days walking to and from work early in the morning & late at night. When I was 9 years old my mom had this old broke down mercury mystique she couldn’t afford a new car because she didn’t have the finances I remember those cold winter days when the car would cut off right in the middle of traffic and my mom and I had to push the car through the snow to get it to the side of the road and I saw her pain but she would always pretend everything was ok we walked a long way home in the snow we both had frost bite it was so painful after the pain calmed down I told my mom when I grow up I’m gonna buy you a brand new car so we won’t ever go through pain again I promise and she just shook her head and smiled. It was 7 of us with me being number 7, my mom did what she had to do to feed all of us. I would always say, “One day, I’m going to buy my mom a new car and a new house” I started my journey at 10 years old working towards a music career with the support of my mom. She always believed in me and encouraged me to keep going and never give up on my dreams. 12 years later, having been a part of a multi-award nominated gospel group, recorded albums, traveled the country performing, singing at weddings and different events to earn a living. I saved up most of the money I earned and realized I could now accomplish one of my goals of buying my mother a new car. I purchased a 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited Edition for around $20,000 cash, She was so excited! she had never owned a new car before, fast forward. September 22 2021 around 8p in the evening my mom was on her way to the store when she noticed her rear window had been broken out. She found another Jeep key where the theif was trying to program it to her vehicle to get it to start. We made a police report and I encouraged her to get some security equipment, so we went and bought a camera to put inside of the vehicle, we seen on the news that 3 young men had been arrested for stealing Chrysler vehicles in the Southfield, MI area. I felt a sense of relief but my mom was always checking her camera every 10 minutes to see if the car was still there. October 16 2021 around 2:30am a rainy morning her suspicions we met with reality. She checked the camera app and noticed the inside of the truck was not visible anymore, she looked out of her bedroom window and it was GONE. The thief had come back and finished the job, this time taking the vehicle but to our surprise, the camera inside recorded his ENTIRE FACE as he entered into the vehicle from the back window. We again made a police report and this time we had proof who did it and posted the footage on social media. We do so much for our community, giving away food, money, clothes, we never expected something like this to happen to us. Not only did he steal my moms vehicle but he stole an accomplishment and a memory from us. Our goal is to make sure the thief is apprehended so that others in the community don’t have to experience this. My mom is in need of a new vehicle, if in anyway you can help her we would greatly appreciate it.

thank you
