First Responder Family in Need

The Kerns Family is in urgent need of in-home medical equipment for their amazing little girl. Their daughter was diagnosed with PANDAS after she contracted strep during the COVID pandemic. PANDAS causes the immune system, instead of attacking the germs or virus, it attacks the part of the brain that affects thoughts, decisions and feelings.

Her family has watched their joyful, happy, playful little girl become a shell of herself becoming highly triggered and able to tolerate only minimal sensory experiences. She has been unable to go to school recently and tells her parents she feels broken and frustrated that she can't feel better.

Her neurologist has recommended that she engage in varying treatments including urgent hyperbaric oxygen chamber therapy to help the brain start to heal. The cost to purchase the needed in-home equipment is over $8,000 and was denied by insurance.

The Kerns Family is a First Responder family and could not be a more incredible family pouring into their community in every aspect. They have worked together to navigate Jason being able to volunteer as a youth baseball coach with the Rebels Baseball organization all the while helping their daughter navigate this devastating condition.

We are asking for donations to help assist in medical bills as well as purchasing this urgently needed medical equipment and other in-home treatments that are being recommended.

Jason's baseball team, the Rebels Navy 13u Baseball Team will be hosting a donation car wash on Saturday, Sept 16th from 8am-11am at the O'Reilly Auto Parts (10180 E. Rita Rd Tucson).
