Blake Stevenson

Our friend, Blake Stevenson a 43-year-old hard working husband and father of two, had not been feeling himself for a short time.  Within days his symptoms became more severe and he knew he needed to see a doctor.
Following his shift at work, on Friday April 3, 2020, he went to the Emergency Room to see if he could get some answers, for what he felt like could be Vertigo.  After explaining the worsening symptoms to the doctors, they decided to complete a CT Scan on Blake, which confirmed the unimaginable!  Blake has a mass on his brain, causing these symptoms.

After being admitted for a couple of days while waiting for a biopsy appointment, where he couldn’t even have his wife Renée Haché, daughter Taven (14) or son Reef (12) be there to support him due to COVID 19, he was released.

It wasn’t until the biopsy, on Saturday, April 11, 2020, where the doctors diagnosed Blake with Glioblastoma, an aggressive and potentially terminal brain cancer, which in Blakes case, cannot be removed with surgery.  The only treatment will be chemotherapy and radiation.

This disease is horrible and does not discriminate!  It is impartial to the fact, that Blake is an otherwise healthy man who goes to the gym before starting work everyday.  As well as, attending boxing classes after work, when his busy schedule of being a great dad/husband allows him to!

This disease is oblivious to the fact that, Blake, a son, a brother, a husband and father of two beautiful kids, is his family’s whole world or the fact that his family is his life!

Like any illness, there are going to be financial burdens that will come along with both Blake and Rene not being able to work due to his treatments.

Unfortunately, bills and expenses do not stop in times like these.  Not to mention the medications, steroids, fuel and parking fees just to name a few additional expenses.

Now, although this diagnosis is terrifying, especially in a time when COVID 19 makes it difficult for people to visit, hug, and support Blake physically, we can all support Blake and his beautiful family financially.  We are reaching out to each and everyone of you, as Blake’s friends and co-workers, for your help.

If you are able, please contribute what you can, even the smallest donation can go a long way.

For those of you that know Blake, know that he has a boxing background, which explains his great exercise and workout routines, but it also means that he is the definition of a FIGHTER!  We know that he is going to put all of his strength and energy into knocking Glioblastoma out, but he is going to need all of us in his corner for every single round!
