Teachers Need Help for Homeless Family of 18

Forced to leave their Oak Park rental home of 18 years because of a mold infestation, Brian and Angel Harris and their family have been living in a hotel through the help of current and retired Oak Park teachers and Kids Empowered On The Move, a local nonprofit organization. But the funds are draining fast.

The City of Oak Park declared their home uninhabitable in March of this year. Sadly, the Harris family has been homeless since then. It has been seven (7) months since the last Section 8 Housing Choice Vouchers were distributed, and all of the family shelters remain filled.

We are seeking funds to help Angel and Brian and their children find their forever home. Please help us get this tight knit family into housing. It takes a village.
