Uplifting Teachers in Tanzania

After losing both of my parents to cancer, I felt a deep calling to make a difference Today. It struck me that "you can't say "someday" forever" To channel my determination, I set a bold goal - climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro, the highest peak in Africa, to "Kick Cancer's Butt." Little did I know that life had another challenge in store for me.

In April 2022, I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. Instead of letting this setback discourage me, it fueled my fire to overcome both personal adversity and make a positive impact in the world. After a successful lumpectomy and discussions with my dedicated team of doctors, I embarked on my journey to Kilimanjaro.

However, the mountain had its own plans. At 15,000 feet, I became hypoxic and had to make the heart-wrenching decision to descend for the sake of my health. This choice unexpectedly led to an extraordinary opportunity to spend more time in Moshi, Tanzania. During this time, I visited a local school and worked with the students there. This experience opened my eyes to the incredible potential of these young minds and their thirst for knowledge.

Now, I'm on a mission to make a lasting impact. I've begun a NonProfit - Patchworks Inc. We bring educators with us to Africa to collaborate with local teachers and uplift the educational system in Tanzania. We're developing curricula, providing classrooms with essential learning tools, and working to transform the future of these students.
