Teale's Journey - Road to Recovery

Donation protected
Meet Teale.
He's thirteen years old, and is now in a battle for his life against cancer, for a second time.

Teale is one of the most bravest, resilient and courageous people I know.
I'm his mum, Bec, and I have set up this go fund me page to assist us with financial support.

Back in 2019, Teale was diagnosed with Ewing's sarcoma in his right fibula. He went through many rounds of chemotherapy, a reconstruction surgery to remove the large tumour and bone, weeks of radiation therapy, followed by multiple other surgeries and years of physiotherapy and hydrotherapy.
Eventually, he even learnt to walk again, and was able to run, wrestle and play with his three younger siblings.

However, our world was once again turned upside down in November last year.
We were absolutely devastated to find out that the cancer has returned: metastatic this time, appearing above his right ankle, and also a tiny cluster of cancerous cells in his right lung.
We made the difficult decision to have his right lower limb amputated, and the cancer in his lung has since been removed too.

Teale has had two rounds of chemotherapy for this treatment over the past few months, but we still have a very long journey ahead: four more chemo rounds, radiation therapy, and years of rehabilitation.

The journey was difficult last time, but it will be especially challenging for Teale with the changes he now faces as an amputee.

Unfortunately, the bills are beginning to add up, as well as the emotional and financial stress.
It isn't always easy to ask for help, but Teale comes first in our eyes, and we will do what we can if it means alleviating some of the strain in our lives at the moment.

We are hoping to get some help from family, friends, and even generous strangers.
Any donation, big or small, is a huge help.
If you are unable to donate, and if you have the time, please assist us by sharing Teale's go fund me.

The funds will go towards:
Medication (as his medication this time around isn't covered by the hospital), building a trailer for his wheelchair, travel expenses, food while in treatment, ramps for our house so Teale has access inside and outside unaided, extra prosthetic attachments, additional hydrotherapy, and the added costs over a long period of rehabilitation.

Thank you so very much for taking the time to learn Teale's story. If you like, you can follow his journey on the Facebook page The Teale Times. We hope to see you there!
