Team Ava Mae

My name is Amanda Meiser and this fundraiser is to support my sister Melissa Winner’s family.

Melissa and her husband Dan’s youngest child Ava was diagnosed with medulloblastoma in January 2019. Ava underwent proton radiation and chemotherapy, completing her treatment in summer 2020.

In October 2021, doctors found a recurrence of Ava’s cancer. Shortly thereafter, Ava had brain surgery to extract some of the tumor for testing. With the advice of Ava’s medical teams, Melissa and Dan made the decision to enroll Ava in a clinical trial in Augusta Georgia. The family will be moving there for the first month of Ava’s treatment, and will travel back and forth for subsequent treatments. Your donations will help defray travel, living, and medical expenses for the family.
