This page was set up to help ease the financial burden of medical expenses while Kimberly focuses all of her energy on the fight of her life. Kim was diagnosed with Stage 3 Triple Negative Breast Cancer, Invasive Carcinoma just a few short weeks ago. She is awaiting bone and CT scan results that will make sure the cancer is contained in one location. Kim begins Chemo this Tuesday, and has a very long road of treatment ahead.
Kimberly is a mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, friend, co-worker, and so much more to those who knew her. She is selfless, literally going above and beyond for everyone she loves. She is bold, brave, and enduring. She is the positive, can-do attitude that we all need in our lives. When it comes to giving, Kim gives all! Her generosity comes from her heart. She is always thinking of others before herself, is upbeat, quick to laugh, quick to help, and puts smiles on the faces of those who surround her. Kim is a blessing and a wonderful person who does so much for so many, and now it's our turn to help her!
Kimberly is hardworking and committed. She has been an employee at Micron Technology for over 20 years. It's a place she calls her second home, with many people she calls her Micron family. These are friends who she cares deeply about, and hopes to return to as soon as possible.
While Kim does have medical insurance, there are out of pocket expenses, deductibles, co pays, and medication not covered by insurance to afford. 2019 has already been a rough year for Kim, as many of you know she had back surgery this summer. She had only returned to work for a few weeks before finding the 3 inch lump in her breast. Only last week, Kim had a medi port placed in her body to receive the chemotherapy that will treat the tumor over the next 5 months. If all goes to plan, Kim will have surgery to remove the tumor and 2 nodes in the Spring. Once she has had 5-6 weeks of healing from the surgery, she will receive more Chemotherapy, and also, Radiation. In short, this next year will consist of Kim fighting the hardest battle of her life. Please join the fight, and rally with Kim to afford the treatment she needs to get well.
Many have inquired about how to help financially, and that is the reason for this Go Fund Me. Please consider helping to raise the funds needed to assist Kim with the many unplanned expenses that lay ahead. No gift is too small. We appreciate anything you may offer, whether financially or spiritually. If you are not able to donate, your prayers and words of encouragement to Kim and her family will be appreciated greatly.
100% of the funds will go directly to Kimberly and Stephen Bernhard.
