Brian Burke Alzheimer's Support Fund
Donation protected
Faithful son, brother, friend, devoted husband, father, and award-winning designer, Brian Kelly Burke has tragically been afflicted with a rare form of Alzheimer’s disease known as Benson’s Syndrome. Brian was born in Paris, TN and raised in Los Fresnos, TX but it would be in the summer of 1988 that he would meet the great love of his life Shari. Together they would go on to graduate from Texas A&M University. Brian’s humble nature, passion, and incredible talent would lead to a full scholarship at Rice University where he garnered numerous local, regional, and national awards while completing his Master of Architecture degree. They would continue to live in Houston and raise their boys Kelly and Justin. Until diagnosed, four years ago, Brian still loved to play soccer in Houston city leagues and was an avid photographer, outdoorsman, and award-winning designer.
Shari has always been at the center of all Brian’s accomplishments ever since they met those 34 years ago. Shari retired from teaching at Travis Elementary School, after 31 years, to care for Brian in his time of greatest need. With all her strength she has been working every day to delay the inevitable, but it has taken its toll on her, emotionally, physically, and financially. Brian’s condition has now progressed to a stage that is beyond the skill set and knowledge base that Shari can provide. Our friends Shari and Brian need our help, now.
This fundraiser and your monetary donation will directly help Shari cover costs for professional health home care for Brian. A minimum donation amount of $20 is suggested, however, any donation you can make is very much appreciated. On behalf of Shari, Kelly, and Justin thank you for your support.
