On behalf of our good friends, Bruce & Virginia, Lefebvre, I am asking for your help.
Bruce & Virginia are an example of a true love story. They have known each other since Virginia was seven years old, & Bruce was eight. Bruce fell in love with Virginia & set his sights on her with the dream of marrying her. Virginia didn’t make it easy for him, & he had to chase her for years before finally winning her heart & her hand in marriage. They will soon celebrate their 30th wedding anniversary, & are still madly in love.
Bruce & Virginia are loyal, hardworking & independent people. They are the type of people who would give the very shirt off of their back. I don’t believe that there is anything that they wouldn’t do for a friend in need. Right now, they are the ones that stand in the need of assistance.
Bruce is a Screw Machinist & CNC programmer who works very hard to provide for his family. He has been in a tremendous amount of pain for quite some time, but kept pushing through, having no idea that the pain was a sign of something serious.
Recently, when the pain became too intense, he was taken to a local hospital. They ran a battery of tests & found a large mass in his pelvis. He had a biopsy done which suggested a malignancy & was referred to the Mayo Clinic, where he had more testing done & consultations with specialists to determine the best plan of action.
Bruce was diagnosed with Chordoma Cancer, which is very aggressive & very destructive in nature. It is very rare, affecting only one in one million people. Unfortunately, the cancer has already progressed fairly rapidly. It has spread through his sacrum & pelvis area, resulting in significant bone loss & nerve damage, which makes walking difficult & causes extreme pain.
Bruce’s prognosis is favorable, but he is going to need aggressive Proton Beam Radiation treatments. He will begin his treatments very soon at the Mayo Clinic. Due to the nature, & seriousness, of this situation, there will be many challenges ahead, including many added expenses. They will have travel, extended periods of lodging & costly medical expenses, plus all of the regular expenses at home.
I urge you to reach out & help in anyway that you can to help them bear the burden that this places on their family. They are not at all the type to think to ask for help, but anyone placed in this type of situation could use a helping hand. I would love for them to only focus on Bruce getting the treatment he needs to recover, & not have to worry about finances.
Thank you in advance for your consideration & assistance in this matter.
