Team Durgy 2018 Rivalry Ride

Hello Friends-
In less than two weeks Sam, Arlo and I will again participate in the sixty-five mile Rivalry Ride from Spartan Stadium to the Big House. I know I speak for Sam and Arlo when I say that we absolutely dread the ride. It is fifteen miles too long, and when we wake up the morning after the ride, we will immediately start dreading next year’s ride. However, we ride to honor our uncle and brother Matt, and to raise funds to find a cure for ALS. Last year with your help, we raised over $7000! If we can come anywhere close to that amount this year, we will be thrilled.
You might like to know that your donations go directly to a lab in the Biomedical Science Research Building at the University of Michigan. The money we raise from the Rivalry Ride along with the fundraising efforts of everyone at A2 A3 allowed us to present a $100,000 research grant in support of ALS research to the husband and wife team of Sami Barmada M.D. and Asim Beg Ph.D. at this year’s annual meeting. Our family had the opportunity to meet Sami and Asim in their lab and learn about their research. It's immensely gratifying and motivating to meet the beneficiaries of our efforts, and I was moved beyond words to witness the direct results of our fundraising. We ride so that our memory of Matty will endure, so we will always feel connected to his life, and so we can give meaning to his death through our efforts . We hope you will support us.
