August 11th 2022 , Wayne was diagnosed with advanced pancreatic cancer plus 4 secondary areas. . He has always trained and competed in events and was due to do Ironman Wales in Tenby September 2022 but sadly this did not happen due to his diagnosis.
He has always had a passion and drive so months after being diagnosed he completed the Swansea and Llanelli Sprint triathlons as part of a team where he walked/ran the 5k.
After these two events he had decided to take on another event but as a team -

The event is the 5k Long Course Weekend on the 2nd of July [email redacted]m .
The last full event that Wayne took part in was the long course weekend year 2022, he has started to get obvious symptoms by this weekend and sadly went down hill from there.
This is going to be an emotional one for him as it would be a year from his last full event before being diagnosed.
During his and our fight we have tried to raise as much awareness as possible. Cancer is on the rise 1in 2 ratio now .
We now want to give back to the CHEMO DAY UNIT IN PPH LLANELLI. They have supported us and treated Wayne with his chemotherapy since begining of diagnosis in August 2022 until present August 2023 The Chemo staff are incredible and deserve all the recognition as possible They have become his hospital family.

We can’t change our circumstances, but if we can encourage others to take note , support or just talk, we have done some good.
Being as fit as he was has helped massively through his treatments so it’s very important he maintains what he can when he can, it also helps to keep his mind focused and gives him goals and little bit of control, with what he has left.
Live today, worry about tomorrow when it arrives. Don’t take anything for granted, keep active and healthy.
