Jake Spiegel is an energetic, highly-intelligent, lovable 14-year old that was recently diagnosed with Ewing Sarcoma in his right arm. It's a rare disease which typically affects only about 300 young adults a year – most often affecting those in the 13-20 age group.
His doctors have mapped out a treatment plan that while frightening and aggressive will, in their opinion, be successful for Jake.
The 1st stage of his treatment plan will begin on Jan. 23rd. He and his family will travel and stay in NY so that Jake can start his chemotherapy at Sloane Kettering Hospital. He will receive chemotherapy for 10 hours each day for 2 days and hydration treatment for 2 days. He will need to be checked the following week before being allowed to return home. He will be returning to NY for the next round of chemotherapy and this cycle will repeat for 4 months. After that time, there will be 2 other stages in his treatment plan.
We are asking for any donations that you would be willing to share with the family to help defray the costs of hotel stays, meals, uncovered bills and other miscellaneous expenses…Any donation amount will be very much appreciated!
Jake in maintaining a good attitude and is staying strong! The family would also love any positive thoughts and prayers!
