Team Kourage
Donation protected
Hi everyone,
My name is Arcel Rusanganwa. Born and raised in Davis, I am currently 22 years of age. I played basketball my entire life from city league playing for the Birch Lane Eagles , to Holmes Patriots, and then on to Davis high school. I graduated from Davis high in 2019. Upon graduating, I began coaching youth basketball camps and assisting with local travel teams. In fall of 2022 I was informed that Harper middle school was planning on cutting their girls program due to not having a coach. I immediately stepped up and volunteered. After a great season, winning 8 games out of 10 the girls wanted to continue. Two weeks after the season ended, I launched Team Kourage. A basketball program strictly for girls only. In our first season we had over 40 girls tryout. We are going into our 3rd season this fall. Womens basketball is bigger than it’s ever been in Davis and this is the time to support 100% to ensure women in this town always have the same opportunity when it comes to basketball. We are looking for donations to help with some expenses. Unfortunately, we are the minority group in town which means we don’t get access to facilities as much as other groups. We get the least amount of gym time out of any other gym users. Raising money will allow us to access the gym on weekends where rates are twice as high but the availability is there. We are looking to purchase a Dr.Dish shooting machine to help our players maximize their reps during practice. One of the biggest reasons we need help financially is to support those who can’t afford season fees. Travel basketball is very expensive. Team Kourage does not turn down any players under any circumstances due to financials. These donations will help give players the opportunity to participate. Thank you everyone. #ProtectWomensSports
