Team Kurt

Single mom/veteran has two boys (Kurt and Van Luke) and needs our help!  Kurt is a faith-filled 13-year-old young man who recently received some news that turned his world upside down.  About three months ago, Kurt was experiencing leg pain. The doctors thought it was muscular and Kurt started physical therapy.  Recently his pain was so severe his ability to walk was impaired. A trip back to the doctor resulted in a referral to Children’s Hospital. Kurt’s mother never expected to hear what the doctors were about to tell her… Your son has cancer.  Extensive testing has categorized his cancer in the Ewing Sarcoma family. His medical team started chemotherapy immediately to shrink the tumors that had already formed. Kurt will continue to receive chemotherapy every two weeks for 28 weeks.  This regimen varies from a one night stay for treatment to a five-night stay for treatment (depending on the week). His treatment plan going forward after chemotherapy will likely include surgery and radiation. Erin, Kurt’s mom, has self-sufficiently raised her boys on her own and now finds herself in a position needing help.  We are thankful for Kurt’s team of doctors. We are thankful for your prayers.
