Hello Friends and Family! Thank you for taking the time to read about our Infertility journey. It's never easy to have to ask for help, and even though our immediate family has supported us so much already up to this point, there is still a lot to be done to reach our dream of having our rainbow baby.
1 in 6 couples struggle with Infertility in our country, and 1 in 4 pregnancies end in miscarriage. Unfortunately, we belong to both groups. We began trying to conceive (TTC) in 2019. After 6 months of trying with no luck, I had a feeling something was not right. Then COVID happened. Finally, after TTC for over a year, I scheduled our first appointment to see a fertility doctor, hoping for some answers. Since then, we have had lots of blood tests, procedures and one early miscarriage, or chemical pregnancy. Our official diagnosis is Diminished Ovarian Reserve, which means our chances of conceiving naturally are very low.
After 3+ years of trying to grow our family, we have decided to proceed with IVF treatment to give us a fighting chance of having a baby. I say chance because many people believe IVF guarantees a baby, but it is not a guarantee! Many women undergo multiple rounds of IVF with no success. Some are lucky to live in states that REQUIRE insurance plans to offer fertility coverage. Unfortunately, that is not the case in Texas, and our insurance does not cover anything fertility related. All expenses have been paid out of pocket and will continue to be out of pocket. The average cost of IVF is around $20,000 depending on many factors and the needs of each couple. The cost does not include office visits, lab work, genetic testing, and medication that is required throughout the IVF process.
We are/will be forever grateful and appreciative of anything that is given to help support our fight for baby Marroquin. We also ask everyone to simply keep us in prayer and help us spread awareness by sharing our story with others in the hopes that someone else in your life feels less alone. Many couples struggle in silence, pretending everything is fine, but hoping, wishing and praying for their turn to become parents.
National Infertility Awareness Week is April 23-29.
Everyone in our lives knows how much we love kids and have been waiting for the day we can add another little sports fanatic to our family.
GOD BLESS AND THANK YOU FOR THE LOVE AND SUPPORT!
XOXO Andrea and Eli
