This is a go fund me campaign for Matthew Edward McKee and Allee Elizabeth McKee and their family. Matthew will turn 12 along with his twin sister Allee on December 25th. The twins are the stars among our family. This was apparent when they arrived on Christmas Morning 2007.
Matthew with his contagious smile and wonderful sense of humor is always fun to be around. He never complains about anything. Matthew's carefree life changed on August 8, 2019. After a three hour nosebleed and a noticeable amount of bruising, a trip to the ER was warranted. Four hours later he was on an ambulance to St. Louis Children's Hospital. After many tests, Matthew was diagnosed with Aplastic Anemia. This is an extremely rare blood disorder. Fewer than 1000 cases are diagnosed in a year. His condition is severe. He will require a bone marrow transplant. This is where his story gets interesting. You see, he is a very lucky young man...his sister, Allee, is an ideal 100% match for him. Allee said, "I know now why God made me a twin". She is our hero. She is Matthew's hero, she is her mother and father's hero. A perfect match...God has a plan!
Matthew is a fighter and will never give up. This is the second life threatening hurdle that Matthew has had to face. At nine months old he underwent brain surgery for a cavernous malformation in his brain stem. He went to Arizona for a month to fight that battle. He wears that scar proudly. Matthew says, "God has a plan, I wonder when I will know what that plan is?"
Matthew has a long journey ahead with months away from home, school, church and all his many friends. We want to thank everyone from the bottom of our hearts for prayer and support for Matthew, Allee and their family. God Bless You!
