Michael Croteau vs Cancer
Donation protected
Six months ago I was just a normal freshman in college when I noticed a small area on my leg that looked like an ingrown hair... on May 15, 2018 I received the diagnosis of a rare Sarcoma cancer called EHE, for short. It is multifocal in my skin, muscle and bone with possible mets to lungs. The cancer diagnosis was bad, but what was even harder was hearing that there was no known curative treatment. EHE effects 1 in 1 million people worldwide and because of this there is little to no funding for research. Currently I'm receiving care from MD Anderson Cancer Center and I am trying an experimental targeted chemotherapy medication(voltrient).
Due to pain and the medications side effects I'm unable to work. Medical bills are mounting to thousands of dollars every month. The strain this has put on me and my family no amount of money could ever take away, but the struggle is still there. My hope is that through community and my network of friends we can raise awareness for Sarcoma and financial relief for myself so that I can continue the fight. My team of doctors have not been able to give me much hope but some see a hopeless end, while others see an endless hope. I choose endless hope. Whoever said winning isn't everything wasn't fighting cancer.
Please add us to your prayer list, help a friend and give forward, and share us with your friends!
