Team Oliver - helping Oliver fight his way back!

Hi! I'm Andrew and I want to tell you about the boy who never gives up! This is my hero Oliver. For those of you who don’t know Oliver, he is my nephew and the strongest kid I know. Oliver suffered a stroke that caused a traumatic brain injury which resulted in many complex medical problems, cognitive and physical disabilities. He has fought hard his entire life battling illness, frequent hospitalizations, seizures and setbacks. Oliver never complains. He faces every hurdle with a smile. He is a funny, silly, happy dude with a great sense of humor. He is loving and affectionate and accepting of everyone he meets, there is no such thing as judgment or negativity in Oliver’s world. He is surrounded by dedicated loving family and friends who all believe in him! He is the bravest, happiest person I know. But Oliver is in a body that is broken and medically frail. Traditional medicine has its limitations, and we found that out with Oliver. We have literally traveled far and wide for traditional and alternative treatments that have helped him so much. He was doing great until COVID hit. Without the ability to keep receiving the treatments and being isolated for so long, Oliver had many setbacks and illnesses. But Oliver’s spirit will not allow him to give up, so neither will we. Over the summer, with the help of so many family and friends from all over the country, we were able to have a wonderful alternative treatment - Oliver had 3 infusions and we have seen more and more glimpses of our boy again. He is more awake, more responsive and has even tried moving himself around a little more. Unfortunately he has had a bad run of recurrent pneumonias which wipe him out, but even with that, he is still more responsive. We are hoping to start another round of infusions which we know will help make him stronger, but they are not covered by insurance and are very expensive. That’s why we are once again turning to all of you. Normally we would throw a great big Oliverpalooza, and we always love that party with all the love in the room for Oliver. But Oliver can’t risk being around a lot of people for fear of catching any kind of illness. Please consider helping us by donating and sharing this -
