Team Olivia Thatcher

We are rallying around the Thatcher family to share in some of the burdens they have endured over the past three years. Olivia Thatcher’s Brain Tumor journey began 8/30/2019 at the age of 8. Olivia was diagnosed with a tumor on her Brain Stem that was 5cm in size and considered inoperable. Since that diagnosis, Olivia has taken 2 years of chemotherapy, multiple brain procedures for biopsies and shunt placements, hundreds of lab draws, dozens of scans, and 6 weeks of Proton Radiation Therapy at St. Jude Hospital in Memphis. Olivia is now 12 yrs. old and in the 6th Grade. She has mostly homeschooled these past few years for illness prevention reasons and treatments. Olivia has endured this medical journey with faith in God and courage! She has grown and seen God provide and protect her in so many ways! The Bible verse for Team Olivia is Romans 8:28, and God continues to work all things for good in His time. Olivia now is 6 months post-radiation currently and is on a 2 year recovery journey to rebuild her strength to walk again, restore the right-side's weakness due to the tumor’s effects, and to shrink and destroy this tumor for good! Olivia lives in Walnut Ridge, Arkansas with her parents Chris and Amanda Thatcher and big brother Grayson.
