Team Renaissance -
As part of the Circle of Excellence trip, some of the attendees will be visiting a local school in the Dominican Republic. Centro Educativo Escuela Cabeza de Toro is a public school located in the sector of Cabeza de Toro, Veron - Punta Cana. There are around 185 students ages 6-16 who attend the school.
While at the school, our Renaissance team members will give each student an English/Spanish dictionary and a note written by a student in Mineral Point, Wisconsin.
As a public school, they rarely receive adequate funding or assistance in order to maintain and upkeep the school. Below are a few photos of the current conditions and needed repairs at the school.
Above photos: Playground - Paint and repair playground area. Put down safety flooring in the playground area. Right now the children cannot use the playground for safety reasons, the surrounding area is so uneven that the children were falling on a regular basis, so the teachers have tied the swings up. [USD $10,395.00]
Above photos: Staircase - Repair school staircase and level concrete, cut unused wiring, paint and refurbish metal door sand window, repair the damages to the leaking ceiling and paint the staircase. [USD $5,218.00]
Above photos: Building - Paint the entire school exterior (first and second floor), paint the main metal door and repair all barbed wiring on the school’s external brick wall. [USD $7,770.00]
Above photos: Lunchroom - Restore the lunchroom, fix the leaking ceiling, repair the broken window shutters, repair the loose wood wall panels, paint the entire room and fix the area to wash their dishes (plumbing to be installed). [USD $3,208.00]
These photos are a few examples of the projects for the school that can be funded by our amazing Renaissance team members. Wouldn't it be great if we could all contribute some monies and help improve the physical condition of the Centro Educativo Escuela Cabeza de Toro school to help accelerate the students' learning?
Renaissance will work with Amstar and the administrators of the Dominican Republic school to use the monies we donate to make some of the needed repairs to the school.
Can you help us with this project by making a contribution to the Dominican Republic Circle of Excellence project? We'll be collecting monies until mid-February. If every employee donated at least $10, we could make a huge impact on this community, school, teachers, and most importantly, students. Participation is optional.
Thank you!
