Hello and thank you for taking the time to read this. My name is Nancy Lopez-Martinez and I am the niece of Lupita “Maria” Lopez. With Maria’s permission, I am hosting the TeamRosaEli GoFundMe page and will be posting updates on their behalf. Please understand that anything I post, RosaEli’s privacy will be considered. On the morning of Sept 29, RosaEli, 22, complained to Maria of severe headache, nausea, numbness on her right side, blurred vision & stiff neck. They took her to the Emergency immediately. They were sent home 4 hours later from the ER with migraine meds. No major tests were ordered and RosaEli was advised to make a follow-up appt with their family physician. The next night, RosaEli complained of the same symptoms. The prescribed medications were not helping. They returned to the ER and several tests were ran. The CT scan showed bleeding on the brain and she was immediately admitted to ICU. The week has been filled with more testing, but fortunately, they were able to control the bleeding. RosaEli has suffered a great deal, although her prognosis is a positive one. She’s had to endure additional testing, MRI and an angiogram to rule out other issues. RosaEli is still in some pain, still having trouble moving on her own, and problems with her eyesight on the right side but is on the road to recovery. The next big hurdle is Friday’s surgery. RosaEli’s brain bleed was significant. She will have to have brain surgery to clean out pooled blood in her brain, that if left, could cause future problems. The risk is real and we need all of your prayers! Maria, RosaEli’s mom, is self-employed. RosaEli is a full time student and does not have insurance. Her current stay in the hospital has been over a week and with the impending surgery, we aren’t quite sure how long her stay may be and if further rehabilitation may be needed. Please consider a gift for RosaEli and help cover the two trips to the Emergency, her current hospital stay, her possible rehabilitation, her prescriptions and follow-up visits to her physician team. Maria, RosaEli’s mom has a long-history of helping and supporting many causes like this one. Maria has hosted fundraisers and Zumbathons to support so many in need. She has donated money, supplements, essential oils, dropped things off personally all to help close friends and family, but also complete strangers. Maria never thought something like this could ever happen to RosaEli and is worried sick.
