TEAM SAVANA!! HER FIGHT IS OUR FIGHT!! PLEASE JOIN THE CAUSE!
Savana Bailey is a fun loving 19-year-old! She is an amazing daughter, aunt, sister, cousin, and friend. <3 Savana graduated high school in 2021 and just starting her next adventures. Unfortunately, life throw her a major curve ball in 2022 with the dreaded C* word.
Last month, Savana was diagnosed with Stage IV metastatic osteosarcoma (bone cancer that spread to both lungs). A few months earlier in the year, Savana had a knot that appeared on her leg. The knot rapidly started to grow creating major pain. The initial doctor appointment indicated the likelihood of cancer with a referral to UT Medical and weight bearing restriction, leading to a wheelchair.
UT Medical immediately referred Savana to Vanderbilt Medical Center after spots were diagnosed on both lungs. Vandy diagnosed Savana with metastatic osteosarcoma. The cancer was the fastest growing type of osteosarcoma and had progressed to Stage IV. The largest area in the lungs was at approximately 11mm. Vandy quickly developed and immediately implemented a treatment plan without delay, due to the severity. She will be faced with approximately 20 weeks of chemotherapy with 3 different drugs, surgery to remove the bone from mid-shin to mid-femur, and then followed by another 20 weeks of chemotherapy. Each chemo session requires Savana to spend between 2 and 4 days in the hospital. In addition, she is required to frequently travel to the hospital for infusions and checkups.
The frequent trips are a major burden to the family and forcing them to choose between travel/medical needs and normal living expenses. Join the cause to help reduce the financial burden that comes with cancer and the fight to live!! All funds raised will be to support Savana and Brandy, Savana’s mom in the travel and treatment costs.
Savana has the toughest battle of her life ahead! She is a fighter and absolutely giving her all to beat cancer! Savana’s love for her family and especially her nephew Zachary is a constant reminder of why this fight is worth fighting and to never give up!! Let’s help her stay focused on getting well!
First and foremost, the family ask for your thoughts and prayers! GOD is good and can she her through this fight! Please open your hearts to participate in her cause, if possible. Every dollar counts! If not, we totally understand, but ask that you share to give others the opportunity to help! We thank you for the bottom of our hearts for the prayers, thoughts, words of encouragement, fund given, or fundraiser share!
In addition to the GoFundMe page, Sierra, Savana’s sister has setup a t-shirt fundraiser. Click the link to purchase a shirt in support of Team Savana.
