On July 8th, Tanya was involved in a terrible car accident. She is in critical condition at Regions Hospital in St. Paul. Tanya has a closed head injury and is in a traumatic coma. Her medical team has told her family that even with the injuries Tanya's brain has sustained, there is HOPE! Tanya is young, healthy and strong, and those that know and love Tanya will tell you, she is a five foot bundle of of fire, feistiness and determination. Miracles CAN and WILL happen for Tanya and her family.
Tanya is seventeen and starts her senior year at Apple Valley High School this Fall. She is part of a loving family that includes her dad Brian, her mom Catherine, her younger brother Eli and her beloved dog Jersey.
The Schlichting's are THAT family....the one that is always at every school, athletic and community event. They are the first to raise their hand when someone asks for a volunteer. Brian has coached what seems like thousands of kids in our community and the entire family has spent countless hours volunteering for VAA (Valley Athletic Association) and other community causes. This is the family that has given their time, resources, energy and love because "it's just what you do.”
Now the Schlichting's need us! Here is our chance to support Tanya, Brian, Catherine and Eli.
First and foremost, we ask that if you are reading this post, you stop right now and send a prayer or positive thoughts for healing and recovery. We believe that Tanya can feel your love and energy and it will give her strength to fight.
After that, if you feel like you can support the family in any way, please do so. If it is within your means to help financially, please use this Go Fund Me page as a way to provide that support.
Tanya has a long road ahead of her. She is going to need every bit of that fire and grit she possess along with your support to recover. Her family will be using the money raised to assist with costs related to Tanya's immediate and future medical care.
We would like to thank you in advance for your thoughts, prayers, positive energy, financial or any other support you have provided. This is one amazing family and they desperately want and need their Tanya back. Let's all be here for the Schlichting's and lift them up and do everything we can to make that miracle happen for our beautiful girl, Tanya.
