TEAM TARA TERSIGNI-DIXON! NO ONE FIGHTS ALONE!

Cancer. No family wants to hear that word let alone Stage 4 terminal colon cancer as the initial diagnosis. This is exactly what happened to Tara, Jimmy, Bella and James Dixon 3 years ago. Tara has valiantly fought and never let the cancer define her. Tara decided right from the start that she was not dying of cancer. She chose to live with cancer and that way of thinking has kept her alive the past 3 years. Tara received her diagnosis as her father was fighting his own cancer. She took care of him until the end of his life, never letting her own health take precedence over his. That’s just who Tara is…kind, compassionate, loyal, unselfish….the list goes on.
    Tara has been on chemotherapy but her latest scans show that the chemo has stopped working. The decision has been made to stop all chemo. Tara has started immunotherapy and works with her palliative team to keep her comfortable. At this point, her doctors feel she only has a few months left. Her health can deteriorate very fast going forward. To be clear, TARA IS NOT GIVING UP! She is just trying to prepare. Eventually, she will enter hospice when she needs more care than can be given at home.
     Tara has told me, as well as her family and friends, that she is at peace with everything. She only has one worry now. To make sure her husband Jimmy and their 12 year old twins Bella and James are taken care of once she is gone. We all know that cancer treatment is extremely expensive and the medical bills are piling up and then there are funeral expenses. Jimmy will need to take time off before and after and that means no paycheck will be coming in. Our hope with this Go Fund Me page is to raise enough money to give the Dixon family the peace they so rightfully deserve. Jimmy and the kids will need each other and this can allow that to happen.
     Tara had always considered herself the richest person in the world because of her family and friends that she is blessed to have in her life. If we could translate that into money, this page would not be needed. Tara has always been the type of person who helps anyone who needs it. No questions asked. It’s time to return that kindness and help the Dixon’s in their time of need.
