#teamtheresa Tougher Together Trampling Cancer

When you look at this picture, you see three sisters who are extremely close, happy and full of laughter; what you don't see is the strength and courage behind those smiles, especially the sister in the middle. Her name is Theresa and she is our little sis. We've always thought of her as unshakeable, the toughest and most resilient out of all our siblings. That's why when we received the news in February about her cancer, we were shocked. She's the strong-willed one who selflessly picked up and moved states away where she knew no one, raised kids of her own while going to school for her EMT certification and last year, as her youngest went off to college, she took on the responsibility of taking in her three grandkids, the oldest being twelve and is now raising them out of the goodness of her heart without any financial support. Although she is supported and cared for by her husband Chris, who works tirelessly at his job, it’s a financial struggle for them with their blended family. She has not been able to work her job as a paramedic, has had several stays in the hospital due to unbearable pain and has gone through a few rounds of chemo so far. We are unsure of the prognosis at this point until she has all of her chemo treatments and they are able to determine if the tumors shrunk. Being out of work with a kid in college, three young ones to raise and costly medical bills coming in, holding it all together is extremely difficult, emotionally, physically and financially. Our family has endured many difficult times over the years, but in those difficult times, weve always been tougher together.
