Team Tina. Winning the fight against Breast Cancer

My very dear friend Tina Rodgers was diagnosed with Lobular Carcinoma (breast cancer) on March 11, 2020. For those of you who know her, you know that she is an extraordinary human being. She is cheerful, loving, unbelievably strong and always puts her friends and family before herself. One of the most loyal friends I have never known.
Tina is the most loving, caring, funny, neurotically-organized,
loving, bravest, smartest and all around greatest humans that I know and I am sure you all agree that she deserves and needs our love and unconditional support now more than ever. Tina is one of the strongest, most selfless people I have ever known and is always there to give her love and support or the shirt off her back to anyone that needs it.
Some of her medical expenses are not covered and with the everyday necessities of life, money will be getting tighter.
As you know, Tina is a single woman and insurance coverage, even
before any major bills have been received, she has already received calls, letters and email regarding potential treatment with questions, such as regarding justification for said treatment, now adding to the frustration of the heavy costs that now lie ahead of her.
To date she has had the following:
1. Initial Mammogram ( 2/28)
2. Diagnostic Mammogram ( 3/2), (Sonogram immediately after)
3. Biopsy( 3/5)
4. Genetic testing(3/17)
5. MRI (3/23)
** much left out because of date specificity
As the last update when she had her MRI last week, she received a call today (3/30) from the West Clinic saying they found a suspicious mass on the right breast. That's when I felt compelled to start this page (much to her resistance ..as you know she is fiercely independent and never wants anything from anyone).
The medical treatment plan for her cancer, which may include chemo, radiation or other medications, reconstructive surgery, partial and possible complete mastectomy, which was firm until the update today, will be confirmed based on the findings from the biopsy of her right breast on April 2, 2020.
A few examples of what the funds raised through this site will be used for:
-Surgery and Reconstruction
-Medical treatment costs (chemo, radiation, other medications, extensive diagnostic tests as needed)
-Bills and expenses that will add up while Tina is recovering
-Any other unanticipated costs that come along with this fight
Please also note that any funds collected that will not be applied to Tina's medical expenses will be promptly donated to causes that benefit other men and women battling cancer around the country.
This diagnosis came as a total shock to Tina, as she is very progressive in her medical appointments of any kind (as she lost her mom when she was only 19 years old), and made sure that she would be here to care for her son as long as she is able.
If you have not yet seen on her posts updating us all, we are still learning more about her diagnosis and treatment plan. What we do know is that her prognosis is really positive, and she is incredibly hopeful and faithful, as she has been her whole life. Her family, as well as, I have no doubt she will come through this fight winning this battle and stronger than ever. With that said, the road ahead over the next few months will definitely be a challenge.
Now, it's time that we send back some of that love and support to Tina. Anything you can donate will be truly appreciated. Everything we can do to help and surround her with love is what is most important so she can focus on beating this!!
