We’re an academy based in Charlotte, North Carolina that teaches the Olympic sport of fencing to members of all age ranges and skill levels. Charlotte Fencing Academy has been open for over 15 years and we have had a great degree of success. However, to continue that success we need your support!
Fencing requires a great amount of discipline and strength of character. Many of our fencers have continued on to compete in the NCAA and at national tournaments. And even those that haven’t continued competitively have gained the tools necessary to do well in their schools and careers.
Unfortunately, it also requires a good bit of funding to compete at the highest levels. Our fencers need additional funding just to be able to attend tournaments. In addition, our flooring is getting a little outdated and needs to be replaced.
The average cost for a fencer to compete at one national tournament is between $1500-$2500 EACH national tournament. With at least 3 tournaments per season, this can add up quickly. And that’s not including the costs for regional qualifiers, equipment, lessons, practice, etc...
Also at national tournaments, we compete on grounded metal strips. This is an important element that our students need to get used to. Currently, we only have one of these strips. We have room in our facility for four more.
Funding us will help us keep our fees down and keep our academy affordable for many of our students. Please help out with whatever you can! Your donation will help with the aspirations of several Charlotte athletes trying to make their Olympic dreams come true! Please donate today and share this with your friends on social media!
