Booker T Washington HS Robotics Team Fundraiser

1209 Robotics is a FIRST Robotics Competition team from Booker T Washington High School in Tulsa, Oklahoma. We are the only robotics team under Tulsa Public Schools. Last year we won the Spirit Award at the Green Country Regional. We are raising funds to help our team cover necessary costs. Those include paying for parts, tools, equipment, transportation, as well as room and board at competitions. There are also multiple times when we stay late into the night to work on the robot, so we also use funds to buy food. All these costs are a financial burden on our club so we depend on grants, sponsorships, and fundraising heavily to pay them.

Robotics is a great thing to support because of how it exposes kids to STEM. We teach kids about multiple different stem fields like computer sciences, mechanics, electronics, and crafting skills to show how they apply in robotics. We also go out into our local community to educate middle and elementary students about STEM. We push kids to solve new challenging questions hands-on that they have never faced before and set them up for scholarship and job opportunities in the future.
