#LappingLeukemia#Team21KnoxStrong
We are rallying together to support one of our own in their time of need. Jordan Hastings, a Mt. Juliet Fire Department Engineer, and his wife Megan Hastings have devoted their lives to service for their community and their child. Went on vacation this past week, on the first day Knox woke up not feeling well, which brought them to the ER. Many hours later they were given the diagnosis that every parent fears. Knox has been diagnosed with T-Cell ALL Leukemia. He was then transported from Panama City to The Studer Family Childrens Hospital at Ascension Sacred Heart in Pensacola Florida. From Sacred Heart the Oncologist made contact with Vanderbilt Childrens in Nashville. Once he was accepted as a Pt at Vanderbilt they arranged for him to be transported there via Life-Flight. Which Brings us to this evening Jordan has arrived in Nashville and was reunited with Megan and Knox at Vanderbilt.
Knox is a strong willed boy, who turns 12 on August 21st. Knox is in great spirits and ready to kick cancers butt. Knox has a long road ahead with months of aggressive chemo followed by years of less aggressive chemo. He is in the fight of his life and WILL beat this. Knox is a huge nascar fan with Matt DiBenedetto #21 being is number on driver. I would disagree with Knox because his Dad Jordan Hastings #R-3 being the Best Driver.
As everyone can imagine with this battle comes lots of financial responsibility for Jordan and Megan. We started this campaign to help alleviate some of that burden, so they can focus on supporting Knox in this incredibly tough fight.
There will be more updates and details to come in the future. Please donate what you can and leave a message for the family.
The liaison for information concerning the family, please contact Lt. Andy Hassler of FDMJ.
I have also set up an email account ( team21knoxstrong at gmail.com ) to help organize assistance, donations, help offered up, or if there is anything you are needing to get to the Hastings Family. I will be monitoring this email, Megan and Jordan will also have access to the email if you want to send them a note.

Message from Megan and Jordan Hastings:
With tears streaming down my face and hands shaking uncontrollably, this is the most difficult thing I’ve ever written.
Cancer. The one word every parent dreads. We had those words delivered to us yesterday and our world has been turned upside down. Our sweet Knox has been diagnosed with leukemia. I want to vomit just typing those words.
We’ve been rocked to our cores and are still trying to figure everything out. There are a lot of unknowns and questions that we’re trying to get answered right now. We’re currently in a PICU in Pensacola while we await air transport to Vanderbilt.
Knox is taking it like a champ and is in good spirits. Jordan and I are devastated. We see the pain and heartbreak in each others eyes and we start crying all over again. Rinse, repeat. We are those parents now. The parents of a child with cancer. We will be each others rocks and will be the strongest we can be for Knox.
As we enter into this next chapter that has been written for us, we ask that you pray for our sweet boy. We ask that you keep Knox in your thoughts. And we ask that you hug your babies extra tight. We have an unbelievable support system that has already rallied around us and are taking excellent care of us in every way imaginable. We don’t know what all of this looks like and we feel like we’ve entered into the dark, dark abyss, but we know that our boy is the strongest. He is in the fight of his life. We will all fight like hell and we WILL beat this.
Thank You to everyone
