On Saturday, December 19th 2015, Sergeant Osburn underwent a successful liver transplant operation. After a grueling 7 hour procedure, it appears that his new liver is functioning at full capacity and Sergeant Osburn is recovering well surrounded by his family and loved ones.
Sergeant Osburn has been an active community member for many years.
He was active in the Allen Police Department from 1984-2011 when his condition forced him to retire. While in the Police Department, Sergeant Osburn brought the SRO (School Resource Officer) program to Allen ISD. He was the supervisor over the SRO program and was stationed on the Allen High School campus for over 17 years. He served as President of The National Association of School Resource Officers (NASRO) for several years. Officer Osburn is passionate about the Allen community, family, friends, and his faith. He is an active parishioner at St. Jude's Church in Allen. He loves classic cars, his family, and everything outdoors.
This year, Sergeant Osburn is Allen High School's 36th Annual Love Week recipient. Love Week will take place February 8th-12th, 2016.
