Update on Boogy

Erin and Derek have asked me to share an update with today’s news. The formal diagnosis is B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia. While this isn’t the news anyone hoped for, the doctors have reassured them that this form of leukemia is highly treatable, and they are confident in the path ahead.

After extensive discussions with doctors and surgeons, the next step in Boogy’s treatment will be surgery tomorrow. This will include a bone marrow biopsy, port insertion, and a spinal tap. Following surgery, she will immediately begin chemotherapy and steroid treatments.

The first month of treatment will be intensive, and the family will likely need to stay in Boise during this time. Over the next eight months, Boogy will receive weekly treatments, followed by monthly care for 2.5 years. It’s a long road ahead, but if there’s anyone who can face this with unwavering strength, it’s Boogy.

Hi everyone, my name is Tiffany. As a friend of the Eldridge family, I’m reaching out with a heavy heart to ask for your support for this incredible family as they face the unimaginable. Their 5-year-old daughter, Visalia (Boogy), was life-flighted to St. Luke's Medical Center in Boise for testing for leukemia.

What started as a few concerning symptoms has quickly turned into every parent's worst fear. Right now, their world has been turned upside down, and they need all the love, prayers, and support they can get. On Monday, January 27th, Boogy will have a bone marrow biopsy for an official confirmation of her diagnosis. That being said, they are still hopeful for a positive outcome and a lesser diagnosis.

Boogy, in her usual fashion, is making best friends with her amazing care team and doctors while also having nothing but a huge smile on her face, making everyone else laugh through the tears! To say she is strong, brave, and beautiful would be an understatement. She is the embodiment of pure joy, resilience, and love, lighting up even the darkest moments with her infectious spirit. Her strength is nothing short of extraordinary, and she continues to inspire everyone around her with her unwavering courage and boundless heart. ✨ #TeamBoogy
