Help John Caletti Recover From a Traumatic Spinal Injury
Donation protected
On July 31st, longtime Santa Cruz resident, artisan bicycle maker, and avid cyclist John Caletti suffered a horrible cycling accident while riding with his wife Cory in the Santa Cruz mountains. John suffered a severe spinal injury and was airlifted to Santa Clara Valley Medical Center.
John underwent extensive surgery to stabilize his spine and spent two weeks in the neurologic ICU. He has thankfully recovered from his critical injuries, but his journey is far from over. He will likely require at least one more spinal surgery and months of intensive therapy to help regain full use of his arms.
John's injuries will prevent him from doing the work he loves for an unknown period of time. He and Cory have had to pause their professional lives to attend to this tragic event. His recovery will be both lengthy and costly, between the lost income and unforeseen expenses. This is causing tremendous hardship on the Calettis.
There has been an amazing outpouring of support and love from his friends and family members, most of whom are asking how they can help. The purpose of this GoFundMe is to help offset the immense financial cost of John's recovery. Donating even a little here would make a huge difference.
John and Cory are beloved members of our families, friend circles, and the greater cycling community. We hope you will consider contributing here.
Another way to help is to request access to Helping Hands, which has been set up for him. On this site, we post non-monetary needs, such as driving him to and from physical therapy appointments, helping grocery shop or cook, and providing well wishes to him and Cory.
Thank you for your consideration and contribution.
