Teaming up to “Spike” Kim’s Cancer
To all of Kim’s warriors...
the battle continues! Let’s band together to help Kim and her family continue the fight. We are raising money to assist with her treatments and help her children and family face what’s coming for them. Let’s crush this goal and show Cancer that we are all here in solidarity refusing to let it win! Please give whatever you can and let’s show this Cancer who is BOSS!
For those of you who may not know Kim well, she has been a part of the Palmetto Bay community for most of her life. She and older brother Chuck were raised here by their parents Chuck Sr. and Donna Latshaw, who helped to found Palmetto Bay. She was a phenomenal local athlete playing for Palmetto High School, Miami-Dade College and finishing her degree at the University of South Alabama, having earned scholarships to both schools.
After graduating, Kim came back to South Florida to teach Physical Education and work as head coach for men and women’s volleyball at both Barbara Goleman and Palmetto Senior High Schools. She has taken her Palmetto teams to State Championships. As a coach and teacher she is dedicated to instilling in her students the importance of work ethic, pride, courage, respect, self-worth and focusing on developing a positive, can-do attitude.
As a wife and mother, and with the help of her husband Carlos, Kim instills her values and that same love of sports and positivity to her children - Carlitos and Amaya. The only difference with her fight today, off the court, is that if she cannot get this last treatment option, cancer will prevail.
Now it is OUR time to team up for her!
We have all been touched and blessed by Kim's vibrant and giving spirit. There is not a better and more deserving person in this community than Kim to have whatever opportunity she can to beat this.
Please donate whatever you can so that her father Charles Latshaw can use your donations to hep facilitate her treatment. Let's show Kim the team she has behind her!
We are with you Kim!
