Ira's Fund for Recovery & Success
Donation protected
Less than a year ago, Ira was living the special life he built. A successful and universally-respected sports journalist in New York City, a devoted son, brother, uncle and friend to so, so many people. Ira is passionate about his career, but cares most about the people in his life.
Then suddenly, normalcy has been put on hold with a brain tumor and then a stroke. The switch from activity and independence to the daily grind towards recovery is startling and so much to mentally grapple with. It's so hard to recognize the steps forward since they occur so slowly. But thanks to the love of family and friends, and dedication of amazing doctors, nurses, and therapists, Ira is moving in the right direction.
We have to help Ira keep his eye on the prize- and that prize is a full recovery and return to the amazing life and love that he cherishes so very much.
The path to recovery will progress over time, and he needs our help to walk him down that rough road. After all, we all know that Ira is the absolute first person who would take the shirt off his back and give what he has for any one of us!
In order to give Ira the environment to recover and return, we need to pull resources to install the special facilities that he needs so that he can live at home under the care and loving attention of his mom, Ellen. Your contribution will be such a massive piece of the bridge to carry Ira back to independence and normalcy. With the installation of a specialized bathroom, wheelchair-accessible arrangements, and a whole host of integral construction needs, Ira will be placed in a position to keep fighting back.
Let's band together and lift Ira on our collective shoulders. It's going to be so great when Ira is back to being Ira!!
