Paddle for Life Team Kimokeo Fund

Aloha, my name is Kimokeo Kapahulehua and I am raising money for the Pacific Cancer Foundation. My goal is to raise $20,000.00 for Team Kimokeo, at the Paddle for Life event on October 10-11.

The goal of the Pacific Cancer Foundation is to raise $70,000 for their 7th Annual Paddle for Life event. I want to help them reach this goal!! If 100 paddlers raise $300 each, we will be at $30,000. With my additional $20,000, we are already 75% of the way there with a total of $50,000. Lets all get on board!!

The paddle is not a race… it’s a voyage, and all of our Maui Ohana are invited to join us for the event. There is truly a remarkable parallel between an ocean paddling voyage and the journey experienced by cancer patients and survivors. Both involve tremendous physical, mental and emotional strength. Both require patience and perseverance. And, ultimately, it takes a team to make the journey successful.

To put my $20,000 goal in perspective, lets look at what the Pacific Cancer Foundation (PCF) can and does do with this money. There are important medical specialties not available on Maui, so sometimes we need to bring the doctor to the patient. We want to make it so that patients have access to exceptional medical help without having to incurr additional expenses traveling off-island for cancer treatment.
For example, the cost to send a doctor round trip from Oahu to Maui is around $500. That means that my $20,000 donation can provide for 40 medical visits to Maui which will allow the doctors to reach many cancer patients per visit and offer easily accessible one-on-one support to patients in the comfort of their hometown.
