Mexico U-15 National Softball team needs help!!!

My daughter and 15 other girls from the USA and Mexico were chosen to represent Team Mexico in the first ever WBSC Americas Softball U-15 Pan Am Women’s Championships in Lima, Peru April 1st-8th 2023. This is a great honor for her and her teammates. The reason we are looking for donations is the Mexican Softball Federation didn’t budget for the U-15 age group for 2023 and is needing the girls and their families to bring their own gear and equipment or to pay for their own uniforms and travel, which not all can afford. This team is made up of 10 players who live in Mexico and 6 are from the USA but have dual citizenship. We are asking for your help to donate and or spread the word to help these girls to look as good as we hope they will play while representing Mexico in Lima, Peru. This isn’t a normal softball tournament as ten countries' National softball teams will be represented. This tournament is set on the world's stage with the top 4 teams earning berths to play in the WBSC U-15 Women’s Softball World Cup in Japan later this year.

Without your donations, these 16 girls will not have the uniforms or equipment that the other countries will have. During our first team zoom call when the subject of uniforms, pants, helmets, bags and cleats came up parents were asked to bring their own white and black pants, to bring red helmets, some parents commented their kids didn’t have red helmets or even the same brands of helmets. Someone suggested if we didn’t have red helmets, we can spray-paint them red in Peru. This is when some of us parents realized something had to be done. Mexico is better than that. Mexicans, Mexican Americans or anyone of any ethnicity that would not want their own or anyone else’s 14-15-year-old girl to be embarrassed by not having new matching team helmets, team uniforms, team pants, socks, visors, team bags, spirit wear, bats and cleats on the world stage like the other 9 countries will have.

We’re asking for your donations either big or small as every dollar counts. The money raised will go 100% towards purchasing the players' new uniforms, softball equipment, spirit wear, etc for any items we do not receive any sponsorships for. Any extra money exceeding our goal can help go towards future travel and future gear for the girls to go to Japan later this year. We need Team Mexico to no go to this event in non-matching or lesser-quality uniforms. We just found out the WBSC does have strict uniform guidelines so even if we wanted to go in non-matching gear we wouldn’t be allowed to so fundraising is our only hope. The girls need to have new green, white and red jerseys and pants and visors, a new helmet, new cleats, team Mexico player bags, Mexico spirit wear and new bats if possible. One country has a Nike sponsorship from head to toe, we don’t, but there’s no reason we couldn’t band together to buy these girls all new items and dress them up proudly from head to toe as well.

These are the 1st ever U-15 Pan Am games for softball and we want Mexico to be one of, if not the best-looking teams out there if possible. We only have 1 month to pull everything together and get items ordered so we appreciate your expedited help.

We will need 16 of each of these items and some spirit wear for the 4 coaches

• 3 player uniform sets (red, white, green) -Jersey, Pants, Socks, Belts) (Roughly $450 for 3 sets for each kid)

• Helmet (cost roughly $85 each) 16 kids and 4 baseball style for the coaches

• White or Red Rubber Molded softball Cleats -whichever has all the girls sizes (cost roughly $100 each)

• Player Bags (cost roughly $150 each) (including adding the Mexico logo and player numbers to each)

• 3 Visors (cost roughly $15 each)

• Mexico branded spirit wear for walking around traveling to events so everyone knows they are Mexico (hoodie, 3- t-shirts/ dri-fit, jogging outfit, leggings, etc.) (Prices vary but probably $250 each kid)

• New Bats if possible ($450 each) |Some girls share or don’t have the newest and best bats

• Evo-Shield elbow guards – Red ($75 w/ taxes)

• Softball Sunglasses – it’ll be sunny in Peru ( $150-$200 each)

The Pan American Championship will be played from 1 to 8 April in Lima, Peru. A total of 10 teams will take part of the competition, starting the tournament in two groups of five:

• Group A: No. 1 USA, No. 18 Brazil, No. 19 Peru (host), Team WBSC*, No. 41 Colombia

• Group B: No. 5 Puerto Rico, No. 6 Mexico, No. 22 Venezuela, No. 33 Argentina, No. 60 Ecuador

If you can't donate but can get this into the hands of someone that can help change these girls' lives that would be a blessing. Something as simple as helping them raise money to get these girls nice matching team Mexico helmets or matching player team bags would impact these girls in unimaginable ways. These are the future stars of tomorrow (they are 8th and 9th graders) and some of these girls will be college softball stars in a few years and or on the fast track to hopefully represent Team Mexico's Olympic softball team in the 2028 Olympics.

If anyone at a small or large business or at big softball brand or sporting goods store could step up to help out that would be greatly appreciated for the bags, helmets, cleats, elbow guards, bats, etc. We will have to purchase at full price online or at local stores unless we get your help with a discount code or donation. Anyone that could help donate sewing the Mexico logo and player #’s on the player bags once we buy them that would be greatly appreciated. Items purchased here in Southern California will need to reach the other players, so the help of a shipper or shipping company to send the items individually to each player (10 throughout Mexico and 6 in the USA) or in bulk to either Mexico or Peru with logistics, discounts or donations would also be helpful.
