As a gym our purpose is to strengthen and lift others up within our community and beyond. We are holding workout events to help bring awareness as well as supporting those who are in unforeseen circumstances.

Our first

TEAMS for a CAUSE

event is on 25th Jan

for Jack M.

Jack M has been a long standing member & family of Never Quit, Bundall gym.

On January 1st 2025, Jack went to Hospital after noticing a rapidly swelling lymph node in his neck.

He was admitted and underwent blood tests, a contrast CT scan, and a biopsy within 24 hours.

Concerns about the lump led to a PET scan a few days after.

On January 6th, he received the biopsy results:

Stage 3 Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, with multiple lesions and a 6cm mass in his chest.

Jack is currently in the hospital, awaiting the start of his first round of chemotherapy, which will begin once additional tests (such as an echo and lung function tests) confirm he is strong enough for the aggressive treatment required.

His chemotherapy treatment will span over an estimated six months, occurring every two weeks.

Jack & Monica (another long term NQ family member) got married last year and are so excited to start their next chapter together. Having this hard hitting curve ball has now added some major obstacles within their daily living and plans for the current time and future.

Jack is also a high school teacher & AFL fanatic playing all his life in Gold Coast clubs. Jack and Monica have 2 fur babies, Rosie & Hugo, who have been the happiest visitors at the gym.

Jack is one of the most positive humans we know, with the biggest heart and empathy to others. His strength matches is high motivation that always resonates to others around him.

Let's come together to elevate that positivity and strength, do what we can to get him through this battle.

We also want to bring awareness in keeping up with health and wellbeing. If you have anything you are concerned about, go get it checked out. Better to be safe, than to leave it be.
