Watch this video for background on Sami's story !

On March 18, 2015, doctors at Helen DeVos Children's Hospital in Grand Rapids, Michigan, discovered that our 11-year-old daughter, Samantha Lee (aka Sami), was suffering from a rare and deadly form childhood brain cancer: a Grade 3 Anaplastic Astrocytoma!

Since then, Sami has undergone a six-hour biopsy, an endoscopic third ventriculostomy (ETV), and a 17-hour brain surgery that removed 60-70 percent of her tumor; she's maxed-out on radiation for quality of life; spent nearly five-weeks at Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation Hospital for acute physical, occupational, and speech therapy; and as for chemo, she's on an intense schedule that includes Avastin, Temodar, and Irinotecan.

WE NEED YOUR HELP!

After months of there being no visible cancer , an MRI in January indicated that Sami's cancer had recurred. Since that time, the tumor has grown 1cm. We've been told that any additional growth may likely result in Sami experiencing symptoms. These can range from the stroke-like symptoms and paralysis she experienced last year to total loss of mobility, sight, hearing, and even memories. Sami's now in paliative care at home.
