On the evening of September 23, 2017, Tommy Thompson was in a horrific car accident and was burned over 50% of his upper body. He has been in the Johns Hopkins Bayview Burn Intensive Care Unit since then. He has had multiple surgeries and procedures, including many skin grafts and the amputation of his left hand. He has overcome many obstacles including several infections.  It is a miracle that he survived, but his fighting spirit and love for his family have sustained him.

Tommy is making progress in his recovery but the future is uncertain. He will most likely need additional surgeries, laser treatments, and physical therapy for the rest of his life. It is uncertain, at this point, when or if he will return to work. Even with insurance, bills for co-pays and tests and procedures that may not be covered are starting to add up. The funds that we hope to raise will allow Tommy and Judy to focus on his recovery and ease the worry about a looming heavy financial burden.

Your love, kindness, care, and prayers throughout this life-altering ordeal have been so very much appreciated. Tommy has paid it forward with generosity and kindness throughout his life. He would be the first to offer support to a friend or stranger. Please consider a donation to Team Tommy and help us share his story.
