Race To Cure SMA
Donation protected

My niece Tori is disabled. Tori has SMA – the #1 genetic killer of infants and children. 1/40 people unknowingly carry the gene responsible for SMA. A cure for SMA would impact over 600 related neurological disorders and benefit millions of people.
This Sunday I am running the San Diego Rock N Roll Half Marathon to celebrate Tori and fundraise to help all impacted. All proceeds fundraised are going to Cure SMA, a non-profit foundation focused on raising awareness, helping those effected and finding a cure for SMA. www.curesma.org.
I will be representing TEAM TORI. Tori means so much to me and my family - the words below barely scratch the surface.
T: is for the Total commitment she has brought out in my family to fight SMA. Quitting is for smokers.
O: is for Odds being merely non-even numbers.
R: is for the Rare defiance of a crippling disease.
I: is for the Infinite gift Tori has bestowed upon all who know her – the wisdom to cherish everything.
The team behind Tori are numerous and are all champions in their own right. It is in this vein I chose my legendary South African Springboks - the team in the movie Invictus – who won the first world cup they played in.
This Sunday I push in my TEAM TORI colors for those who can’t and promise to give my best.
If you would like to help end a disease that hurts millions including my lovely niece, please donate here.
I encourage all to use your good health wisely - get outside and enjoy all of your abilities as often as possible and cherish your loved ones. I know that makes all the difference.
To good health and big hearts, Uncle Dayne.
