Kieran & Kevin on Team USA Karate

Kieran Tamondong and Kevin Stevens are both 13 year old students at Rising Sun Karate Academy located in Stevenson Ranch, CA.  They both started their karate training at Rising Sun when they were only 5 years old.  They are both extremly passionate and dedicated.  They regularly train 15-20 hours each week,  compete at tournaments both locally and nationally, and always represent their family, their dojo and their sensei with pride, honor and respect.   It has been their goal to someday, represent their country as well.  They have both won hundreds of medals, trophies and titles over the past 8 years and currently compete at the highest "elite level" for both Kata and Kumite. Recently, they both tied for the #1 ranking as the best in the nation for their age group in Kata. 

At the USA-NKF National Championships and Team Trials held in Fort Lauderdale two weeks ago, both of these boys accomplished a huge goal and acheived a major milestone in their martial arts journey.   These two extraordinary boys qualified for their placement on the USA-NKF National Karate Team that will travel to Santa Cruz,  Bolivia at the end of August where they will both represent the UNITES STATES at the Jr Pan American Karate Championships.   The USA-NKF is the governing body for Karate here in the U.S. and is responsible for creating a team of the best martial artist to represent the United States at major competitions internationally and for the Olympics someday.

This is their dream.  To represent Team USA,  stand tall on the podium,  have the gold medal placed around their neck and hear the Star Spangled Banner while the stars and stripes is raised above all others.   We kindly ask for your support in helping to make this dream a reality for these two exceptional boys.  Any amount will help.  The proceeds  will help cover the cost for the visas, vaccinations, administration fees and travel costs for both the athlete and their guardian.
