A Car For Teaoni: A Momma Who Chose Life :)
In February, a young lady was driven to the abortion clinic in Charlotte by her estranged husband to abort their unborn baby. Thankfully, instead of going inside they stopped to speak with the faithful sidewalk counselors outside the clinic and agreed to come aboard the mobile ultrasound unit and receive counsel and prayer. The young lady was torn but her husband adamant about her going through with the abortion. Nevertheless, they left that day without having the abortion. Over the next couple of weeks, the sidewalk counselors from Cities4Life, who they met that fateful day, remained in contact with the young lady and her husband via phone. He remained adamant about the abortion and it appeared that she may give in. So many pro-life Christians across our city, including LoveLifeCharlotte ministry, were interceding for the life of this precious unborn baby. Because she and her husband were separated and due to her financial situation and unstable living situation, LoveLifeCharlotte and Cities4Life reached out to The Life House ministry, a local ministry in Rock Hill, SC that houses women & girls in crisis pregnancies, who choose life for their unborn babies. These ministries worked together to reach out to the young lady who still remained on the fence about her pregnancy as her estranged husband continue to pressure her to abort. It was during this period of phone counseling with The Life House that the young gave her life to Jesus Christ! She agreed to come stay at The Life House while she weighed her options. It was there in a Christian and nurturing environment that she made a firm decision for life though her estranged husband still encouraged her to abort well into her second trimester. When she made a firm decision for life, he cut off all contact with her.
During her time at The Life House going through life skills training, career training, Bible study, Christian discipleship, regular mentorship, we have seen this young lady grow in her Faith and love for Christ and his Word and to grow as an individual. She is a hard worker- working two jobs up until a certain point in her pregnancy, attends church every week, and has been a model resident at the Life House. We recently had a gender reveal an learned that she was having a baby BOY! As her pregnancy nears its end (baby due on Oct. 1st), her car broke down. A trusted Christian brother and mechanic, who is a friend of The Life House, attempted repairs were attempted, but it is much more pricier to fix than the car is worth. This mechanic brother, buys cars at auctions and fixes them up and he has a reliable, low mileage vehicle for sale, a 2012 Ford Fusion that he is doing some minor fixer up on, that would be a perfect car for her. It would be such a blessing if we could come together and pitch in a little to help her purchase this car. When advised that we were putting together this fundraiser she was so grateful and wants to put in herself...she has such a humble heart and I have seen her often want to do for others before herself.
