Nos faltan 3: Teatro para la memoria y la justicia

No queremos olvidar

Un secuestro, 19 días de angustia, una negociación fallida, y el asesinato a sangre fría de los tres integrantes de un equipo de prensa de Diario El Comercio, en Ecuador. Esta historia sacudió a Ecuador. Por primera vez en su historia un equipo periodístico ecuatoriano fue secuestrado y ejecutado por los grupos armados de Colombia, que libran una guerra desde hace casi 60 años. Todo ocurrió en 2018, poco después de la firma de los acuerdos de paz en Colombia, que en muchos territorios solo han servido para dispersar la violencia.

Fue un dolor colectivo que abrió una herida que todavía no cierra porque el caso sigue en la impunidad y el acceso a información que podría aportar a la verdad sigue siendo negado. El Estado ecuatoriano falló en sacarlos con vida de la selva y durante cinco años sigue fallando porque no ha podido entregar la verdad sobre lo ocurrido con el periodista Javier Ortega; el fotógrafo Paúl Rivas; y el conductor Efraín Segarra.

Por todo esto, los familiares, amigos y colegas de los comunicadores desaparecidos queremos abonar a la memoria colectiva y poner en escena una obra de teatro para recordarle al país que el crimen sigue en la impunidad y que debe levantar el cerrojo de información clasificada para entender qué pasó con los tres. En otras palabras queremos volver a contar (para no olvidar) la historia de Javier, Paúl, y Efraín.

A kidnapping, 19 days of anguish, a failed negotiation, and the cold-blooded murder of the three members of a press team of Diario El Comercio, in Ecuador. This story shook Ecuador. For the first time in its history, an Ecuadorian journalistic team was kidnapped and executed by Colombian armed groups, which have been waging a war for almost 60 years. It all happened in 2018, shortly after the signing of the peace agreements in Colombia, which in many territories have only served to disperse violence.

It was a collective pain that opened a wound that still does not close because the case remains in impunity and access to information that could contribute to the truth continues to be denied. The Ecuadorian State failed to get them alive out of the jungle and for five years it continues to fail because it has not been able to deliver the truth about what happened with the journalist Javier Ortega; the photographer Paúl Rivas; and the driver Efraín Segarra.

For all this, the relatives, friends and colleagues of the disappeared communicators want to fertilize the collective memory and stage a play to remind the country that the crime continues in impunity and that it must lift the lock of classified information to understand what happened to the three. In other words, we want to tell again (so as not to forget) the story of Javier, Paúl, and Efraín.
