Ted Cruise Fundraiser

Donation protected
On Saturday, December 28th, as he was preparing to take the stage to perform, Ted Cruise was suddenly stricken by a massive stroke, which tragically took his life  days later.

Ted was a loving husband, father, son, brother, and uncle, and a friend to many. An exceptional guitar player who was much sought after for his musical talent, Ted was also an active hunter and outdoors man. He possessed a fantastic sense of humour and a sharp wit, and is generally considered to be “the glue” that brought together and, over many years, held together a large group of close friends. Ted’s sudden passing leaves a massive void for all of us who knew and loved him. In his death he was still able to give back and graciously became an organ donor.

Ted always worked hard to support his family, and with all of the emotional pain and stress that a death brings, it also brings financial burdens. We are raising money for Ted’s wife Kim, and his daughter Jessica, to help ease these burdens.  As a community, we want to relieve any stress on the family caused by the costs of the funeral and what comes afterwards.

It is in these times of loss and sadness when people are at their best, coming together to help one another make it through, and to support the people we care for. We are thankful for any support you may be able to provide.

For our dearest friend, Ted Cruise...

Ted, we wish we had let you know how deep our friendships and lives were caught-up and dependent on yours.

From proposing to build a "Hunt Camp" together, to the numerous lives you've touched and influenced through your musical adventures and the musicians you've surrounded yourself with.

We may be filled with sorrow and regrets for now, but the joy and laughter you always brought to a gathering will ring in our hearts and ears forever.

With Love...

January 14 2020,

Hi everyone my name is Sharon Berard, my husband and I were fortunate to work at RVH with Ted.  Although I was not as close to Ted as others we felt it important to help Kim and Jessica during this tragedy while those who were close could be there in person for the family and for each other during the loss of his life.
As our fundraising comes to the end I just felt it very important to make it public knowledge as to what will proceed as everything comes to  a close.
I, Sharon Berard will withdraw the money to my personal bank account. The next step will be myself, Devin Berard and Peter Payton (Ted's boss and close friend) will go to the bank withdraw the money using certified cheque. At the request of Kim and Jessica we will then take the cheque directly to the  Goulet Funeral home to close out  his final expenses.
In closing I wish to send out one last thank you to everyone's generosity. It is never easy to see someone taken so suddenly.  There sometimes is a lack of peace when you have no control over what your last words would have been had you been able to predict the future.
The amount of support and love I have witnessed first hand through Ted's passing has enlighten my heart and restored my faith that mankind and this community is a beautiful thing. It is unfortunate that sometimes it take a tragedy such as this to see the sun shine through the  storm clouds.
Thanks again,
Sharon and Devin Berard
