Teddie's Mental Dental Diet health care clinic
Tax deductible
Hello everyone, thank you for stopping by. Please take a read of mine and the MAYSEA story below to find out why any donation will help so much. Thank you so much in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to me.
Our story has always been a story of Community.
A story of Time.
A story of Resilience...
The United Nations recognizes education as an effective vehicle for social mobility, yet education is only widely accessible to families with a stable stream of income. Our programs ensure that the next generation will have the tools.
Community development is a strong backbone for promoting socio-economic growth. With this, we have understood that our investment in working with developing communities is ultimately an investment of many challenges and cultural barriers. Health being one of the most extreme.
In May of 2021, we will focus specifically on Oral Health Preventative care in partnership with Mental Dental Diet by Teddie Little and sponsored by Curaprox.
Nicaragua, one of the hemisphere's poorest countries, faces low per capita income, widespread underemployment, poor healthcare, and a heavy external debt burden. The distribution of income is one of the most unequal on the globe.
There are only 0.04 dentists for every 10,000 Nicaraguans. This lack of basic dental care affects overall health, as scientists have discovered, linking healthy mouths to healthier bodies. This campaign is to support our Oral Health Care Clinic for nearly 100 people of all ages in the rural jungle communities of Southern Nicaragua.
Want to know more about the story of Teddie Little x Mental Dental Diet leading on the ground clinic in rural Nicaragua? Read on with words from Teddie herself.
'Hi my name is Theodora but you can call me Teddie. My purpose and passion is oral health and my deepest desire is that everyone is empowered to fall in love with their smile, regardless of colour, shape, size , social expectations and where they and their mouths are in the world. I wish to spread my passion for oral health to all, and transform the way people see their smiles and how they feel about them by connecting them with their mind and mouth.
Over the last few years, I have traveled the world working with many dental professionals in many different cultures, and I have experienced the depth of not only dental disease but also the negative and detrimental emotions and perceptions people hold towards their mouths, dentistry and oral care in general.
Through my experiences, I have realised that it is actually a privilege to have access to health care and support. Many people throughout the world do not have adequate physical and mental support when it comes to their health and oral care. My soul purpose is to support others in self-healing, through changing how we feel, see and love ourselves from our minds to our mouths to which is then radiated through our smile we then share with the world. This calling has taken me back to University to study Psychology and neuroscience, and launched me onto the road to share and support others in less privileged parts of the world.
My first ever solo gig will be with MAYSEA in Nicaragua, and why I say ‘gig’ is because I am a great believer in combining music and dance with everything we do, as by stimulating the senses and raising the energy in this way, a deeper experience can be achieved that facilitates and locks in positive emotions, especially when creating and retaining new knowledge and experiences.
I believe that I am not only a teacher, I am also a student of the people I educate and connect with. Through my educational activities, a beautiful exchange occurs in which I and the people I am serving create a beautiful bond that will hopefully endure for all time. I teach through engagement and creativity as I believe that learning is not just listening, it is the collective creation of both the student and teacher.
The people I support are learning and creating with me, and together we are part of a bigger purpose and vision which I hope is our future. Without knowing, they to will be supporting others around the world, and together we will collectively connect minds to mouths, making medical magical.'
